Holy Communion with Healing Prayers for St. Luke’s Day

  • St. Bartholomew's Episcopal Church 3747 34th Street South St. Petersburg, Florida, 33711 United States (map)

St. Bartholomew’s Episcopal Church and St. Augustine’s Episcopal Church invite you to a special joint celebration of Holy Communion with Healing Prayers for St. Luke’s Day.

St. Luke, traditionally known as a physician as well as an evangelist, has long been associated with the Church’s ministry of healing. This special service offers a time to gather in prayer for healing of body, mind, and spirit—for ourselves, for those we love, and for our community.

🌿 A Service of Hope & Healing

The service will include Holy Eucharist, hymns, and a solo anthem. During worship, the oil used throughout the year for anointing the sick will be blessed.

All who wish may receive the laying on of hands and anointing with oil, accompanied by prayers for healing. You are welcome to receive these prayers for yourself or on behalf of someone you love.

🩺 A Blessing for Those Who Care

A special blessing will also be offered for those who serve in the healing professions, including those working in nursing, medicine, physical therapy, therapy, and mental health, with special recognition of our Parish Nurses.

💚 All Are Welcome

Whether you are seeking prayer, supporting someone you love, serving in a healing profession, or simply wish to join us in worship, you are warmly invited.

St. Bart’s and St. Augustine’s parishioners, friends, family, neighbors, and members of the wider community are all welcome.

“Your faith has made you well; go in peace.” — Luke 8:48
