Family & Friends CPR/Defibrillator Course

Join us for a free, hands-on CPR and defibrillator training course designed for anyone who wants to learn lifesaving skills in a supportive, non-clinical environment. This course is perfect for parents, grandparents, caregivers, teens, and anyone who wants to be better prepared in an emergency.

This 2-hour session will be led by trained staff from St. Anthony’s Hospital and follows the American Heart Association’s Family & Friends® CPR curriculum. Instruction is provided using AHA’s practice-while-watching method — a proven approach that gives participants the most hands-on practice time possible.

🧠 You Will Learn:

  • Adult Hands-Only CPR

  • Adult CPR with breaths

  • Child CPR with breaths

  • Infant CPR

  • Adult and child AED (defibrillator) use

  • How to respond to choking (mild and severe airway block) for adults, children, and infants

  • How to recognize when and how to use a defibrillator (AED) in an emergency

✅ What to Know:

  • Free to attend

  • No written test required

  • Includes a Certificate of Participation

  • Open to ages 9 and up

  • This course is for general knowledge only — it does not provide job certification

📝 Registration Required

A sign-up sheet is located in the Parish Hall and will be available until October 10th. We must have an accurate headcount in advance, as the number of staff provided by St. Anthony’s Hospital depends on how many participants are expected.
